Easter is finally here! The yummiest of all holidays. I found these cute yarn colors (Blueberry/Fruity Speckle by Big Twist) at Joann and couldn't resist making something simple, but cute out of it. The pastel colors just remind me of spring.

Since I focus more on making amigurumi food toys, I wanted something simple to do for Easter. I have seen a few egg patterns out there, but I really wanted one that was shaped more like Cadbury Mini Eggs (my fave!) I made them bigger, too, so that these dolls can be added to baskets or used as decorations around the house.
This pattern is great for beginners, but for those who are more advanced, you can alter it to use different colours for designs or whatever you want. I will post the pattern for using just one type of yarn with no switches so that anybody can follow along.

Insert eyes in holes that are between R12 and R13. There should be 4 stitch holes in between each eye. Add a mouth using black embroidery floss, starting halfway near one eye, halfway down. Feel free to add dimples using a different color yarn or felt. Attach safety backings for the eyes once you’re happy with the placement of the face. |
Start stuffing with fiberfill and add more as you continue. |

Add the last bit of fiberfill. Cut the yarn, leaving a 4-5 inch tail and pull through last loop. Thread the tail through a yarn needle and weave through FLO of all 6 sts. Pull to close. |
